You will help build and ship AI features inside Ledgers, turning LLM capabilities into reliable product workflows for founders.

We are assembling a lean, high-quality team to build the next phase of the product.
The Role
Based in Cairo, Egypt. We operate with flexibility today and plan to transition to a hybrid model once Ledgers Egypt is fully set up (target: Jan 2027).
You will design, prototype, and productionize LLM-powered workflows across product surfaces including insights, classification, retrieval, forecasting support, and internal tools.
You will work closely with engineering and product to balance accuracy, latency, cost, and safety — shipping features that are measurable and dependable.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship LLM features end-to-end including prompting, tooling, evaluation, and iteration
- Build retrieval workflows with embeddings, chunking, ranking, and caching
- Define evaluation methodology and track quality over time
- Optimize for latency and cost across model choice, batching, and caching
- Implement guardrails including safe completion patterns, fallbacks, and failure handling
- Collaborate with product to translate user needs into AI specs and acceptance criteria
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building LLM-powered applications in projects or production
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with LLM tooling such as OpenAI, Anthropic APIs, LangChain, or LlamaIndex
- Solid understanding of embeddings and retrieval including vector DBs and chunking strategies
- Experience designing evaluations and iterating based on results
- Comfortable working with APIs, backend services, and data pipelines
- Clear communication and ownership mindset in a fast-moving environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with function calling and tool-use patterns
- Experience with structured outputs and reliability techniques
- Awareness of privacy and security practices when handling user data
- Exposure to fintech or accounting concepts
